MEET THE CREATOR

Can you introduce yourself and tell us what type of content you create?
I’m Alexx Teo, a filmmaker and content creator from the Philippines focused on cinematic storytelling through short-form visuals. I’m drawn to creating emotion-driven content that connects with people through simple but meaningful visuals.
Can you walk us through your early days as a content creator?
I started with minimal gear—just a phone, DIY setups, and trial and error. My biggest challenges early on were limited resources and self-doubt, but they pushed me to be more creative. Over time, I developed a cinematic, emotion-driven style, and one of my early reels gained traction because people connected with the storytelling.

Who or what influences your content the most?
My inspiration comes from real life, emotions, and everyday moments. I avoid burnout by stepping back when needed and not forcing ideas. When brainstorming, I start with a feeling or message, then build visuals around it, with music shaping the tone.

My inspiration comes from real life, emotions, and everyday moments.
What has been the biggest challenge in your journey so far?
Balancing content creation with school and managing my time has been one of my biggest challenges. Staying consistent while improving creatively isn’t always easy, and I’ve faced creative blocks and moments of doubt. Taking a step back, staying disciplined, and remembering why I started helped me keep going.

What’s been your proudest moment as a content creator?
My proudest moments come from seeing people connect with my work. Being featured in a national news article was a major milestone, especially from starting with almost nothing. I’ve also landed brand partnerships and been able to help support my family, which makes everything more meaningful.
People connected with the storytelling.
Where do you see yourself as a content creator in the next few years and what advice would you give others?
In the next few years, I see myself growing as a filmmaker and working on bigger, more meaningful projects. My advice is to start with what you have and stay consistent, because progress comes from doing. If I could go back, I’d focus less on perfection and more on creating.
